1830's, were featured in the Diocese of Columbus Catholic Record Society's monthly
publication, "Barquilla de la Santa Maria". The series ran in January, February, March, June,
July, and September 1985. This publication is now mostly available on-line, and is a great
resource for anyone with roots in the Columbus area.

| • | Philip Marion Sens was born on 6 Jun 1943 in Newark, Licking County, Ohio. Philip was
Bernard Sens's nephew. He joined the Marion Corps, serving as a rifleman, and reached the
rank of E4 Corporal. On 30 October 1965, he was near Da Nong in the Quang Nam
province of Vietnam, and was killed by an explosive device. Philip and 17 other fellow
Marines died that day. Philip is remembered on panel 3E, line 7 of the Vietnam Memorial.
